This month we highlight some of our fantastic experiences in Argentina and Chile. We only scratched the surface of these unique places and definitely would go back.

Wander Wednesday

“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien

This beautiful giant sculpture is along the waterfront in Punta Arenas, Chile. It is called “Circumnavigation” by  Francisco Gaziuta and represents Magellan’s ship sailing around the world, as well as paying tribute to the indigenous peoples of the area. Punta Arenas is practically the southernmost city in the Americas, on the Straits of Magellan, the narrow set of passages between Tierra del Fuego and the mainland.  Ernest Shackleton came here to get a ship to rescue his men stranded on Elephant Island, Antarctica, in 1916. A Chilean Navy vessel finally rescued the sailors and made a triumphant return to Punta Arenas. Don’t miss the Shackleton Bar
