This month we highlight some of our fantastic experiences in Argentina and Chile. We only scratched the surface of these unique places and definitely would go back.

Wander Wednesday

“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien

road sign in Tierra de Fuego

So here we were at the end of the road, at the end of the world. The southernmost point of South America is Tierra del Fuego, named by Spanish sailors who saw the indigenous inhabitants’ nighttime bonfires along the shoreline and decided the land was on fire. Highway 3 goes from this point to Buenos Aires, then connects to the Pan American Highway network that goes all the way to Alaska.

On this trip, we were leaving out of Ushuaia on our first Antarctic Cruise. Taking a day trip to this end of the continent is a good pre-cruise excursion.
