As we return to our travels and process living with Covid-19, please keep yourself safe and follow local health guidelines. As the world continues to rebound from pandemic conditions, remember to be flexible, supportive, and cheerful. We all want to travel safely and well!
This month, we are taking a deeper look at travel in Flanders, the northern half of Belgium. If you are looking for great food, fascinating history, and European culture, as well as easy accessibility to the region, Flanders is for you!

Wander Wednesday

“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien

Antwerp Statue

Our last post for January takes us to Antwerp, a culturally vibrant city that has a lot to see. The Brabo Fountain shows the mythical Silvius  Brabo throwing the giant’s hand across the river, where he had been extracting tolls from the locals, or severing a hand if they didn’t pay. Brabo defeated the giant and took his hand and head for good measure. The translation of Antwerp (Antwerpen in Dutch) is Hand Throwing and you will see lots of hand designs all over town, including in chocolate.
