This photo is from the Bois Jacques, near Bastogne in southeastern Belgium. You can see trenches dug by American soldiers in the winter of 1944-45 during the Battle of the Bulge. We were able to visit many of the WWII sites in this area and they truly bring the horrors of war into sharp perspective. If you are at all interested in WWI or WWII history, Flanders has many places to visit and some fascinating museums. It is definitely worth a couple of days to
