Wander Wednesday

Woman showing art in Italian Palazzo

Of course, seeing great art is one of the best things about going to Italy. It’s on the walls, on the ceilings, even on the floor. There is an art medium for everyone, from marble sculpture to penciled line drawings and genres, from ancient to modern. You can also hear wonderful music in Italy, especially opera. On our last trip to Rome, we visited the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj and took a tour that combined art and music.  We saw paintings by Raphael and Caravaggio, Bernini sculptures, and beautiful wall decorations from ancient times to Renaissance and the Baroque. This tour ended in an operatic concert with music from those times, accompanied by period instruments. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Rome.
