Traveling in “shoulder season” can be more relaxing and a better value. The summer crowds are gone. The weather can be delightful. Please continue to stay safe and follow health guidelines wherever you go. This month I am highlighting photos from my last trip to Paris.

Wander Wednesday

Paris is a big city and the Metro is generally safe and easy to use. Try to avoid rush hours when the trains are most crowded, and do watch your purse and pockets at all times. You can buy 10 metro tickets in a bundle called a “carnet” which is the best value. Paris is phasing out the paper tickets by 2025, and there is a plastic card called the “Navigo Easy” that can be loaded with the value of the carnets. You would tap the card on the entrance gate and it automatically deducts the ticket from the card balance. The carnet tickets are also good for bus trips and the RER, the above-ground trains. Easy peasy!
