Welcome Fall! Soon it will cool off and school will start up and the leaves will turn colors (in the Northern Hemisphere, at least). September is a good time to travel-often called “shoulder season.” Prices may be lower and crowds may be fewer. Stay safe and have fun out there!

This month’s photos are of maps. We love maps!

Wander Wednesday

“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien

Smartphones make it easy to keep track of where you are and where you are going. I use the Google Maps app all the time when traveling. If you turn on Location services, you can open the app and click on the arrow to see your location-the little blue dot. When you put in directions, you will see your starting point and a path to the ending point.

If you do this while your phone is on wifi, you can save the map and it will be available offline. Or you can take a screenshot of the map, as this picture shows, which allows you to save the route.

Another good tip is something I wrote about a while ago: take a screenshot of your location to help you get back there later.

It’s also fun to save these maps as a record of where you’ve been and how you got to that great restaurant or museum!

Where would you like to be wandering?
