Welcome to autumn in the Northern Hemisphere!
We are looking for cooler temperatures and more places to experience.
This month’s photos celebrate the vibrant colors of my trip to South Korea.

Detail of Painting on Temple

This photo is a close up of the large bell at the Golgusa Temple near Busan, set in a colorful pavilion. The lanterns are to celebrate Buddha’s Birthday and add a festive air. The wooden building is heavily painted with colorful flowers, mountains and curlicues. This particular Buddhist Temple is devoted to Seonmudo, a meditative martial arts practice. We had a very interesting and informative overnight stay at the temple, getting a bit of an experience in the temple life. I would recommend this experience if you are interested in the way of the monks.
