This month we highlight the Marquesas Archipelago, one of the five island groups that make up French Polynesia. We visited several of the fascinating volcanic islands on the SS Paul Gauguin.

Wander Wednesday

This giant manta ray was enjoying the water around the ship in the Marquesas Islands. In some places you can actually swim with the rays. The white parts in front of the head act as funnels to help sweep food into the mouth. This is one of the more exotic marine animals we saw on this cruise.
