Our Atlas Ocean Voyages cruise from Scotland to Norway included a stop in the Faroe Islands. On a day tour, I was wowed by the beauty of the landscapes. If you look closely, you can see buildings with sod roof tops, a traditional technique. This town, Kvivik, has Viking settlement remains and a robust fishing industry. There are many small villages scattered among the islands, with salmon fishing and farming supporting the people. I would definitely head back here for a longer stay.
