Skeleton sculpture Venice Biennale

At the Venice Biennale, there are many smaller countries that have exhibits outside of the Arsenale and Giardini venues. Just down the street from my apartment in the Arsenale area was the Mongolian exhibit. I walked through several small rooms with a different installation in each one, but the skeletons were the most striking. Quoting from the exhibit website:

Discovering the Present from the Future,” by artist Ochirbold Ayurzana. Inspired by the Buddhist deity Citipati, the artwork symbolizes the impermanence of life and prompts a quest for higher consciousness and enlightenment in Buddhism. Accompanying this is a depiction of the historical Citipati, offering visitors a profound perspective on societal and human behavioral shifts in our globalized world.

Walking into this small space with the giant skeletons was a bit intimidating and fascinating.
