This photo was taken at Lake Ballard, near the town of Menzies in Western Australia. The sculptures are part of an Antony Gormley installation called “Inside Australia.” I had been wanting to come here from the very first time I heard about it. A flight from Perth, a night in a hotel, a 2-hour drive into the outback, 2 hours back to town, a second night in the hotel and a flight back to Perth-sometimes those places off the beaten path are worth searching out. This one definitely is.
